Save Your Life and Livelihood Through Falls Prevention
Boulder County, Colo. - Falling is not a normal part of aging. The Boulder County Area Agency on Aging, alongside the Boulder County Partners for Falls Prevention, are happy to host programming across the county throughout September to help you and your loved ones learn how to prevent falls. Falls remain a leading cause of injury for people aged 65 and older. Falls threaten your safety and independence and generate huge economic and personal costs. If you are already exercising on a regular basis, keep it up! If you haven’t been active in the last few years, don’t worry but remember to check in with your doctor before starting to find out which types of exercise are best for you. Join us to learn the many ways you can protect your health through Falls Prevention Month! County-wide programs include PickleFall: Safe Falling for Pickleball, Ukemi (the Japanese art of taking a fall safely), Balance for Body, Tai Chi, Yoga, Dance for Balance, Steady Steps, and more.
